Starlink Secures NOC for Launch in Pakistan

In a major step towards expanding digital connectivity, Starlink has obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Pakistan’s Space Activities Regulatory Authority (PSARA). This clearance, along with approvals from the Ministry of Interior, paves the way for Starlink to receive its final telecom license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

According to sources, Starlink has successfully completed three registration phases, including approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). The company is now awaiting the final PTA license, expected in the coming weeks.

Starlink, owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, aims to provide high-speed satellite internet across Pakistan, with a focus on underserved and remote areas. However, industry analysts anticipate that the service rollout may take up to a year due to regulatory processes and infrastructure setup.

Expected packages include a Residential Plan (Rs 35,000/month for 50-250 Mbps) and a Business Plan (Rs 95,000/month for over 300 Mbps).

With Starlink’s entry, Pakistan’s internet landscape is set for a transformation, offering advanced connectivity solutions and bridging the digital divide.
